Also known as: Ipamorelin Acetate, NNC 26-0161

Limited Evidence

What is Ipamorelin?

A selective growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) considered one of the milder GH-releasing peptides. Popular in anti-aging clinics and often paired with CJC-1295. Not FDA approved.

How it works

Selectively binds to ghrelin receptors (GHS-R) in the pituitary gland to stimulate growth hormone release in a pulsatile pattern that mimics natural secretion. Unlike other GHS peptides, it does not significantly raise cortisol or prolactin levels.

What marketers claim

  • builds lean muscle effortlessly
  • burns fat without diet changes
  • completely safe with no side effects
  • as effective as HGH injections

What evidence supports

  • clinical studies confirm selective GH release with minimal cortisol or prolactin elevation
  • shown to increase bone mineral content in animal models
  • considered one of the better-tolerated GH secretagogues in limited human studies

Best for

those exploring GH optimization under medical supervision

Frequently asked questions

Is Ipamorelin safer than other growth hormone peptides?

Ipamorelin is considered one of the more selective GH secretagogues because it does not significantly raise cortisol or prolactin levels, unlike GHRP-6 or GHRP-2. However, it is still not FDA approved, and long-term safety data in humans is limited.
