  • robust animal model evidence for accelerated healing of tendons, ligaments, muscle, gut mucosa, bone, and cornea
  • Phase 2 human trial for ulcerative colitis showed statistically significant dose-dependent improvement in endoscopic and clinical scores
  • small human studies show reduced musculoskeletal pain after injection

Key concern: no completed large-scale human safety trials — preclinical safety data is reassuring but not a substitute

A tripeptide fragment derived from the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Gaining popularity in the biohacking community for gut health and anti-inflammatory applications, though human clinical evidence is extremely limited.

What evidence supports

  • demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects via NF-kB inhibition in cell studies
  • reduced colitis severity in multiple animal models
  • shown antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus in vitro

Key concern: no published human clinical trials for any indication

Pentadeca Arginate

A synthetic peptide sold under a new name that shares the exact 15-amino-acid sequence of BPC-157 (GEPPPGKPADDAGLV) — the only formulation difference is the counter-ion used to stabilize it (an arginine salt instead of the acetate salt used in standard BPC-157). PDA surged onto compounding pharmacy menus after BPC-157 and TB-500 were restricted from compounding in 2023–2024, marketed as a "successor" or "legal alternative." Understanding PDA requires understanding that it is not a new molecule — it is the same active peptide, repackaged.

What evidence supports

  • PDA and BPC-157 are the same active pentadecapeptide sequence — every mechanistic and preclinical data point cited for PDA is actually BPC-157 data, applied by inference
  • no peer-reviewed study has ever tested pentadeca arginate as a distinct compound — there is no PDA-specific animal or human trial as of mid-2026
  • the underlying BPC-157 sequence carries the emerging preclinical and early human evidence detailed on our BPC-157 profile — that evidence base applies to PDA only insofar as the peptide itself is truly identical

Key concern: PDA appeared on the market almost overnight as a workaround after BPC-157 and TB-500 were pulled from compounding pharmacies — buyers should recognize this timing as a regulatory-arbitrage naming change, not evidence of a superior or newly-developed molecule
